By means of this RFP, NRCan is seeking proposals from Bidders to provide support to the Federal Geospatial Platform (FGP) Project Team, as and when required.
OBJECTIVE:
The objective of this requirement is to engage an expert team experienced in operational policy-based research, analysis and development to provide support to the FGP Project Team, as and when required, in pursuit of the following program objectives:
- Supporting the integration and use of geospatial data to support effective decision making; and,
- Facilitating a coordinated approach to geomatics thereby reducing duplication of efforts in acquisition and management of GEO data, tools and services
- Encouraging the use of geospatial information and data for product and business process innovation across all sectors, including the public sector to fuel productivity and growth
- Supporting the Open Government Action Plan, User-Centric Web Services – GCWeb and the Canadian Geospatial Data Infrastructure.
More specifically, FGP Project Team wishes to engage a team with significant experience and a deep knowledge base in data and technical policy and standards development, within the realm of geomatics, geography, large-scale enterprise information systems and the Internet.
The period of the contract shall be for one year with the option to extend the period of the contract for up to two (2) additional twelve (12) month periods.
There is no security requirement associated with this requirement.
This requirement is subject to the provisions of the World Trade Organization Agreement on Government Procurement (WTO- AGP), the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), the Agreement on Internal Trade (AIT), the Canada - Chile Free Trade Agreement (CCFTA) and the Canada-Peru Free Trade Agreement (CPFTA).
