THE SECOND DRAFT OF THE REQUEST FOR SUPPLY ARRANGEMENT (RFSA) IS
AVAILABLE AS AN ATTACHMENT TO THIS NOTICE

The Translation Bureau (the Bureau) is undertaking a large-scale
transformation initiative designed to modernize the Bureau and
put it on solid footing for the future. One of the pillars of
this transformation, which affects all of the Bureau's business
lines, is the revamping of the linguistic services procurement
process. As part of this revamping, the Bureau would like to
renew its supplier directory for translation services and set up
supply arrangements with pre-qualified suppliers. In modernizing
its directory, the Bureau wants to simplify the contracting
process, improve the planning and predictability of contracting
requirements, and make contracting procedures and the rules
governing the operation of the directory more transparent and
effective.

Accordingly, the purpose of this request for information (RFI)
is to publish a second draft of the Request for Supply
Arrangements (RFSA) that modifies the proposed requirements and
the Bureau's strategy for renewing its supplier directory.
Interested firms are being asked to provide feedback on the
proposed approach. This feedback will be considered in the
development of the formal Request for Supply Arrangement (RFSA),
which will be used to solicit bids as part of this initiative.

This is not a bid solicitation. This RFI will not result in the
award of any contract. Therefore, potential suppliers of any
goods or services described in this RFI should not reserve stock
or facilities, or allocate resources, as a result of any
information contained in this RFI. Nor will this RFI result in
the creation of any source list. Thus, whether or not any
potential supplier responds to this RFI will not preclude that
supplier from participating in any future procurement.
Furthermore, reference to goods or services in this RFI will not
necessarily result in the procurement of such goods or services.
This RFI is simply intended to solicit feedback from the
industry with respect to its contents.

Nothing in this RFI shall be construed as a commitment from
Canada to issue an RFSA for this project. Canada may use
non-proprietary information provided in this review in the
preparation of any formal RFSA.

The Crown retains the right to negotiate with suppliers on any
procurement.
