For performance metric development purposes, DRDC ? Valcartier Research Center requires a portable commercial monocular that fuses thermal digital images with color low-light digital images. The monocular must allow the user to toggle between the thermal image, the color low-light image and thefused thermal\color low-light image. The fused image must be generated by a digital fusion algorithm and not by simple blending (i.e. a global weighted average algorithm). 1.3. The monocular must be comprised of a CMOS visible camera providing color imagery at low natural light levels (= 100mlx) and monochrome imagery at very low natural light levels (= 10mlx), without resorting to an image intensifying tube.
1.4. The monocular must be comprised of a CMOS visible camera with a sensor format of at least SXGA (1280 x 1024 pixels).
1.5. The monocular must offer a real-time fused-image visualisation mode (color visible and thermal), generated with a digital fusion algorithm and not by a global weighted average algorithm (i.e. weighted average of two images).
1.6. The monocular must have a color HD digital output.
