The Department of National Defence (DND) has a requirement for
the provision of 500 equipment sets comprised of three (3)
Rugged Processors (RP-T) and one (1) Rugged Display (RD-T) to
host and provide access to the Land Command Support System
(LCSS) software for crew within the Tactical Armoured Patrol
Vehicle (TAPV) platform currently under contract. Included in
this requirement are spares, training and technical support in
addition to the option to purchase additional sets, spares, and
extended warranty.

The LCSS is the command and control system of the Canadian Army.
The rugged processors and display will host the LCSS and
related software at selected crew seating positions in the TAPV.
The TAPV is a multi-purpose protected vehicle that is intended
to support the full range of operations of the Canadian Army. It
will be equipped with a full suite of communications and command
and control equipment, integrated with the onboard weapon and
vehicle sensors and systems. The TAPV contract has initial
production delivery scheduled in 2014 and DND will transfer the
rugged processors and displays to the vehicle OEM for
integration into the vehicle during production.

Within 90 days of contract award, the contractor must deliver
three (3) equipment sets in Ottawa, Ontario for software
development, system integration testing and in-vehicle
qualification. Deliveries of the equipment sets for production
vehicles will start in June 2014 at a rate of 30 sets per month
to Edmonton, Alberta.

Mandatory Delivery Schedule
Bidders are cautioned that the delivery schedule identified is
firm and that it is mandatory for bidders to accept this
schedule. A bid containing delivery dates that are later than
the dates outlined will be declared non-responsive.

Bid Sample for Evaluation
Bidders are required to provide one (1) Bid Sample (one RP-T and
one RD-T) as part of their bid submission for evaluation
purposes.
