Wharf Deck Reconstruction, Hermitage, NL
Public Works and Government Services has a requirement on behalf
of Department of Fisheries and Oceans for work that will consist
of, but will not necessarily be limited to, the following:
Demolition and removal of a portion of the existing timber deck,
as noted on the drawings. Demolition and removal of existing
timber wheelguard, wheelguard blocking, bracing, end beams and
fenders, in the area noted on the drawings. Supply and
installation of a new reinforced concrete deck, in the area
noted on the drawings. Total estimated surface area of the new
concrete deck is 300 m2. Supply and installation of new Type B1
cleat blocks, as noted on the drawings. Supply and installation
of structural timber for coping, wheelguard, wheelguard
blocking, fenders, bracing, shims atop existing pie cap,
extended pile cap, and support posts for extended pile cap at
Hermitage, NL.
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS:
Before submitting a bid, it is recommended that bidders visit
the site and its surroundings to review and verify the form,
nature, and extent of the work, materials needed for the
completion of the work, the means of access to the site,
severity, exposure and uncertainty of weather, soil conditions,
any accommodations they may require, and in general shall obtain
all necessary information as to risks, contingencies and other
circumstances which may influence or affect their bid. No
allowance shall be made subsequently in this connection on
account or error or negligence to properly observe and determine
the conditions that will apply.
Contractors, bidders, or those they invite to site are to review
specification Section 01 35 29 - Health and Safety before
visiting site. Take all appropriate safety measures for any
visit to site, either before or after acceptance of bid. Obtain
prior permission from the Departmental Representative before
carrying out such site inspection.

R2710T (2013-06-27) for the Code of Conduct and Certification
provisions applicable to this requirement.
