Observation Cell Door Replacements Springhill Institution and
Nova Institution for Women, Truro, N.S
Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC) has a
requirement for observation cell door replacement at buildings
5, 6 & 7 at the Springhill Institution and the observation cell
door replacment in the secure unit of the Nova Institution for
Women, Truro, N.S. In general the work at the Springhill
Institution consists of the following: The removal and
replacement of cell doors in Buildings 5, 6 & 7 and all related
hardware. In general the work at the Nova Institution for Women
consists of the following: The removal of two cell doors and all
related hardware in observationcell # 156 & #157 and the supply
& installation of two observation cell doors and all ral and
replacement of cell doors in Buildings 5, 6 & 7 and all related
hardware. All work is to be performed in accordance with the
plans and specifications for PWGSC Project Number R.061825.001
and R.061826.001 forming part of the bid document. The contract
completion is twenty-two (22) weeks after contract award.
It is recommended that the Bidder or a representative of the
Bidder visit the work site and examine the Scope of the Work
required and the existing conditions. There will be an optional
site visit at the Springhill Institution on November 19, 2013 at
10:30 am. All interested bidders are to meet at the main
entrance of the Springhill Institution, Springhill, Nova Scotia.
There will be an optional site visit at the Nova Institution
for Women on November 19, 2013 at 1:30 pm. All interested
bidders are to meet at the main entrance of the Nova
Institution for Women, Truro, Nova Scotia. Although not
mandatory, all contractors wishing to submit a tender for this
work are encouraged to attend to become familiar with all
aspects of the work. Any clarifications or changes to the bid
solicitation resulting from the site visit will be included as
an amendment to the bid solicitation. Please note that there is
a security clearance required for this site visit. ALL
interested bidders, regardless of current clearance level, must
submit the Institution Access CPIC Clearance request form
attached as Appendix 3 of the Invitation to Tender document by
2:00 pm November 5, 2013. Please submit one form for each
Institution.
New measures related to Code of Conduct and certifications
included in the solicitation documents requires attention.
A public bid opening will be held at the Bid Receiving Unit,
Room 421, 189 Prince William Street, Saint John, N.B.
The estimated cost for this opportunity is within the following
category: $100,001 - $250,000 (HST included). Standard bid and
contract security for construction is required.
