Title: M4 Building Kitchen Renovation

Note to Tenderers:

paper version. Tenderers should note that Attachment File(s)
contains the Drawings and Specifications Package (DSP) which
consists of PDF files organized in an industry recognized
directory structure.

Work Description:
Work to be done under this Contract comprises of general
construction requiring demolition, renovation and construction
of a portion of the existing kitchen in the M4 Building and
associated site wok located within the Matsqui Institution,
Abbotsford, BC.

Work will be performed in accordance with the contract schedules
within the scope of work.

Mandatory Requirement:
1.) The General Contractor must have a minimum 5 years
demonstrated experience working in correctional institutions.
2.) Any Subcontractors (ie. Mechanical, Electrical and Building
Security and Communications Subcontractors) must have a minimum
5 years demonstrated experience working in correctional
institutions.

Site Visit:
Contractors are recommended to visit the site prior to
submitting a tender for this work and to make inquiries or
investigations necessary to become thoroughly acquainted with
the site as well as the nature and extent of the work. A site
visit is scheduled on Wednesday, October 30th, 2013 at 10:00am
local time, at Matsqui Institution, located at 33344 King Road,
Abbotsford, BC. A maximum of two (2) representatives per bidder
will be permitted to examine the sites. Contractors attending
the site visit are required to show one (1) piece of government
issued ID, such as a Drivers License.

All contractors must wear a high visibility vest, which meets
WCB standards, for all site visits including a tender site
visit. No cameras, cell phones (of any type) or laptop
computers are allowed into institutions at any time.

Delivery Date:
The work shall commence immediately upon official notification
of acceptance of tender by the Contracting Authority and is to
be completed within sixteen (16) weeks from Contract Award.

Value of Project:
To assist with bonding and insurance requirements this project
is estimated to cost around
$2,800,000.00.

Firms intending to submit tenders on this project should obtain

from Buyandsell.gc.ca/tenders. Firms that elect to base their
bids on tender (solicitation) documents obtained from other
sources do so at their own risk and will be solely responsible
to inform the tender calling authority of their intention to
bid. In all cases, bidders must indicate (when requested) in the
space provided on the tender form the identification number(s)
of the addenda, if any, that they have taken into consideration
for their bid.
