Description of Work:
EBIDM is currently aligning all of its process improvement initiatives with the direction set by the Service Management Transformation Program (SMTP). This priority SSC-wide Program is tasked with fundamentally transforming SSCs IT Service Management (ITSM) capabilities through accelerating the maturity of ITSM processes across SSC and procuring and implementing a new enterprise-wide ITSM tool to effectively and efficiently deliver and manage IT infrastructure services.
As the process owner for Enterprise Business Intake and Demand Management in the SM Transformation Program, EBIDM has a critical role to play in supporting the success of this Program by continuing the end-to-end integration of the Enterprise Business Intake Process, tools and information management with all stakeholders across SSC (e.g., Service Lines, Change & Release Management, etc.). EBIDM is leveraging ITSM best practices in all process improvement initiatives, ensuring all tools are updated and cross-referenced (e.g., BITS and ECD) and accountabilities and responsibilities for each process step are defined and implemented so the SMTP can accelerate process maturity through these clearly defined processes.
Having clearly defined processes, accountabilities and tool use will directly support and facilitate the move to the new enterprise-wide ITSM tool once it is chosen and ready to be implemented.
EBIDMs process improvement initiatives will be focused specifically on:
Continuing to engage Service Lines and other process area such as Service Design, Change & Release Management, operations, etc. to map, align and integrate the end-to-end Enterprise Business Intake Process with the disparate service management processes ensuring the process is transparent, tools are aligned and there are clear accountabilities and responsibilities;
Deploying and stabilizing the process improvements across the SSC service lines and branches including engaging and communicating with stakeholders to inform, train and reinforce the process improvements;
Automating the Enterprise Business Intake Process as much as possible using the existing tools to reduce manual intervention and prepare for the transition to a new ITSM tool;
Refining Enterprise Business Intake performance monitoring, reporting and analytics to increasingly evolve and enable evidence-based executive decision-making with regard to demand management; and,
Aligning and improving the governance and management activities and processes related to Enterprise Business Intake across SSC Service Lines and other impacted stakeholder groups.
