Alpha Spectrometer System
The Aquatic Contamination Research Division, Environment Canada
(EC), Burlington, ON has a requirement for one (1) Alpha
Spectrometer system including delivery, installation and on-site
training. This Spectrometer is required for sediment core
dating with Pb210 technique and alpha radioactivity measurement
in environment samples. The system must be of high efficiency
and low background for measuring trace amount of Lead-210
(Polonium-210) in sediment samples. The Po210 profile of the
sediment core is used to determine the sedimentation rate and
the chronological age of the sediments.
