Nature of Requirements:
TITLE: Mesenchymal Stem Cell Therapeutics
SECURITY REQUIREMENTS:
1. The Contractor must, at all times during the performance
of the Contract, hold a valid Designated Organization Screening
(DOS), issued by the Canadian Industrial Security Directorate
(CISD), Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC).
2. The Contractor personnel requiring access to sensitive
work site(s) must EACH hold a valid RELIABILITY STATUS, granted
or approved by CISD/PWGSC. Until the security screening of the
Contractor personnel required by this Contract has been
completed satisfactorily by the CISD, PWGSC, the Contractor
personnel MAY NOT ENTER sites without an escort.
3. Subcontracts which contain security requirements are NOT to
be awarded without the prior written permission of CISD/PWGSC.
4. The Contractor must comply with the provisions of the:
(a) Security Requirements Check List and security guide (if
applicable), attached at Annex "D";
(b) Industrial Security Manual (Latest Edition).
REQUIREMENT:
Defence Research and Development Canada (DRDC) - Suffield,
Medicine Hat, Alberta, has a requirement for the assessment and
understanding of the possible utility of mesenchyma stem cells
(MSC) as theraputic tools, using a combination of native cels,
cell and media extracts, and recombinant protein expression
constructs in MSC.
Due to the nature of this work it is expected that there may be
follow-on contracts.
MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS
1. Education: Senior scientist must have PhD in Biology,
Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a related field, with
postdoctoral experience.
2. Education: Senior scientist must have experience with stem
cell culturing and characteization Proposed Technical staff must
have BSC or MSc in relevant area, with experience in cell
culture, molecular biology.
CONTRACTOR SELECTION:
The contractor will be selected on the basis of the Assessed
Best Value to the Crown taking into account merit and cost
factors.
PERIOD OF CONTRACT:
It is anticipated that any contract will be effective from date
of Contract to March 31, 2015 inclusive.
ESTIMATED FUNDING:
The estimated funding available for the Contract resulting from
the bid solicitation is $220,000.00 CAD, the Goods and Services
Tax or the Harmonized Sales Tax excluded, FOB destination for
goods, customs duties and excise taxes included. This disclosure
does not commit Canada to pay the estimated funding available.
