Requirement:
DRDC is acquiring a flight follower (or flight tracker) in order
to support its need for high quality high-speed videos of
in-flight projectiles for analysis and evaluation. The flight
follower must have the capacity to be operated remotely and
track projectile up to a speed of Mach 7 over a relatively short
stand-off distance. The flight follower should allow DRDC to
track small, medium and large caliber projectiles. The system
should be capable of operating in pair in order to eventually
extract the position and attitude of a flying projectile. The
unit should not require any calibration prior to its operation.
The system should be compatible with Photron high-speed cameras
model number SA1, SA3, SA5 and SAX.
The tracker system must be able to operate in extreme weather
conditions.
